FADA RADIO & ELECTRIC CO. 1949 Model 790 AC/DC Broadcast Band (AM) and FM radio. This set was manufactured when Americans still had a very strong sense of pride in their craftsmanship.
This set is attractive and ruggedly made. Most “reports” I have read claim this radio holds its FM alignment as well as the day it was made! I must say these reports are true.
This brown radio is made of Bakelite. It has Catlin plastic knobs. It was also made with a white finish for people who wanted to enjoy their radio in a kitchen.
Last time I checked it had nine tubes. The speaker has a diameter of about 6 inches and it truly sounds Tom Terrific on FM.
